The footstool has long been the pinnacle of convenience, comfort and fun when it comes to idling. Our bag of beans has served us well for years. Our girls love to rest there while they read, look at their pills and play. Although now, after years of abuse, after being tested and stopped in small spaces when not in use, it is beginning to lose its filling, I regret to say that it is time to replace a Disney Princess bean bag.
As the girls are getting older now and my wife wanted to try and modernise the look of the house, we weren’t sure if we should buy a new one unless we could find a piece of furniture to match the rest of the furniture. We decided to try to replace our old ottoman chair with something else. After searching the internet for poufs of more modern materials, we discovered to our joy that we do not limit ourselves to classic design and that there are many unusual models of chairs and poufs to choose from.
Ottomans have been around for a long time, they were invented in 1969 by the Italian designer Zanotta, who wanted to develop a new type of chair to meet the needs of a generation of hippies. They hit a nail on the head, and as soon as it was released, the beanbag showed its strength. Thanks to the energy generated by flowers, baby boomers, millennia and modern hipsters, beanbags have remained a popular alternative to sitting. Lately, modern designers are trying to revive the ottoman trend by inventing exciting and fun new ottoman armchairs to suit everyone’s taste.
We’ve found hundreds of new developments. Modern design footrests, animals, food and even those that look like rocks and stones! Do you want to relax, watch TV, watch a pile of rocks or hug a big grizzly bear? Well, you can do it now, but no pain factor! We thought the hardest thing to replace our old ottoman was to find a chair that was a bit different and still matched the rest of our furniture, but it turned out that there are so many different ideas and masculine styles that we find it hard to narrow our choices.
One of my favorites has a velvet headgear, but with a leather seating area, which consists of triangular plates that form a chair-like surface to sit on. It has a modern and elegant look and should harmonize with our house. My wife loves the huge beanbag, 3 by 2 meters, which can be hung on chains to form a large hammock for 2 people, although I’m not sure where she expects us to put it in our humble home. Our oldest wishes a giant beef burger, and the youngest a grizzly bear.
I see that it will take some time to reach a consensus and I’m starting to think that it might be easier to sell our sofa and just replace it with a custom chair with an ottoman each! This will at least help to dispel the controversy surrounding SHE STOLE MY SEAT! I sat there first!
